地道英文表達：“沒門兒”可不是“No door”

看到“沒門兒”這個詞，你有沒有脫口而出“No door”？

其實呀，這是中式思維在作祟，或者說翻譯的時候只考慮到了字面意思，沒有分析它真實的含義。仔細想想，你跟別人說“沒門兒！”的時候，只是在告訴對方沒有“門（door）”這個東西嗎？不是的！你是在說“這事兒不可能！”，所以呀，根據它真實的含義，

沒門!”用英文可以這麼說：

No way!

Out of the question!

Impossible!

answer the door應門，開門迎客

eg：

At 5：30， I was at my parents‘ house ringing the doorbell， praying that Dad would answer the door。

at death's door行將就木

eg：

My dad could be at death’s door， but wouldn‘t say a word。
