If you‘ve ever wondered why I have a beard， it’s because without it I would have an infinite loop of face。

Facial hair has evolved a lot over the last 100 years， from beards to mustaches to being oh-so-clean shaven， all the way back to beards again。

你一定很好奇為什麼我有絡腮鬍，那是因為沒有它，我的臉能夠無限迴圈（超光滑）。

鬍子在過去的一百年裡有了很大的變化，從絡腮鬍到小鬍子，再到沒有鬍子，然後再沿著這條路回到絡腮鬍。

And because of the popularity of facial hair， believe it or not， there are a lot of misunderstandings that come along with it。

Well， in this video I‘m going to take the seven most commonly believed myths that you likely still believe about the hair of the face and explain the truth behind them。

由於鬍子形狀的普及，不管你信不信，這其中有很多謬誤。

Whether you’ve got a mustache or a beard or you just know someone with one， this is some useful information that you‘re going to want to take with you。

So， without further ado， this is seven myths you still believe about facial hair。

If your beard doesn’t grow fast， it never will。 It‘s often said that if you’re trying to grow a beard and don‘t see much progress in a few weeks， it’s best to call it off and just shave。

人們常說，如果你想要留絡腮鬍，幾個星期了還是老樣子，最好還是把它全部刮掉吧。

Ah， but this is simply not true。 On average， men see just under six inches of facial hair growth in a year， which is around half an inch per month。

Cool story， bra。 Yes， your growth spurt might be long over and you‘re now a fully grown adult， but that doesn’t mean that your beard is as full as it‘s every going to be。

Look at me， I’m 5‘6 and I could look homeless if I really wanted to。

According to scientist， facial hair can improve in fullness throughout a man’s 20s and 30s， often changing well into his middle age。

Facial hair can actually cool you in the summer。 See， beards and mustaches act as shade for your delicate yet manly face。

When it comes to your beard keeping you warm in the winter， it’s not actually insulating you， it‘s merely protecting your face from the bitter wind。 You can lengthen your beard by pulling on it。

Hey， I looked it up， and this is actually a myth。 Yes， this is， believe it or not， a popular old wives’ tale。

This myth says that by gently pulling on the whiskers on your face， you will help them grow faster and longer by encouraging them to grow in a particular direction。

Many people believe that having a mustache would make them seem immature and untrustworthy， but a poll conducted in 2008 for The Guardian， a British newspaper， showed that 61% of people found that the mustache is gentlemanly and sophisticated。

Trust me， I used to serve food and I had to wear a beard net。
