高中必修一重點詞彙

表示“勸說”而不一定“勸服”時，多用try to persuade結構。

The son tried to persuade his father to give up smoking。 兒子勸其父親戒菸。

We tried to persuade our teacher not to punish us for being late。

我們勸說老師不要因為遲到處罰我們。

作“使相信”解時，其主要用法有：

接that從句：

She persuaded him that she was telling the truth。

她使他相信她在說真話。

接of短語，即構成persuade sb of sth。結構：

How can I persuade you of my sincerity？

我怎樣才能使你相信我的真心實意呢？

We are persuaded of the justice of her case。

我們確信對她案件的審理是公正的。

派生詞彙：

persuasive adj。 有說服力的；令人信服 的；persuasion n。 說服；信服；信念

He couldn‘t show us a persuasive excuse。

他不能向我們提供一個有說服力的理由。

After a lot of persuasion， he agreed to come。 好說歹說，他才同意來。



ignore

【點撥】vt。 不顧， 不理， 忽視

If you ignore someone or something， you pay no attention to them。

如果你忽視某人或某物，你會不注意他們。

She said her husband ignored her。 她說她的丈夫不理她。

She ignored legal advice to drop the case。 她不顧法律上的建議，放下這個案件。

【拓展】ignorant adj。 無知的， 愚昧的

If you describe someone as ignorant， you mean that they do not know things they should know。 If someone is ignorant of a fact， they do not know it。 如果你把某人描述成“無知的”，你的意思是他們對於本該知道的事情不瞭解。如果某人對一個事實“ignorant”，意思是他不知道這件事。

People don’t like to ask questions for fear of appearing ignorant。

人們不喜歡問問題，害怕顯得無知。



suffer

【點撥】vi。 受痛苦； 受損害；vt。 忍受， 容忍，後面一般跟“不太好”的詞，如疾病、痛苦等方面的詞。

If you suffer pain， you feel it in your body or in your mind。

如果你遭受痛苦，你會在身體上或心理上感受到。

Within a few days she had become seriously ill， suffering great pain and discomfort。

幾天的時間內，她病得很重，忍受著巨大的痛苦和不適。

If you suffer from an illness or from some other bad condition， you are badly affected by it。

如果你經受疾病或其他一些惡劣的情況，你會受到不好的影響。

I realized he was suffering from disease。 我意識到了他的病讓他很痛苦。

【拓展】interview和cover辨析：

二者都有“採訪”的含義，但是用法不同：interview 採訪的物件是“人”，所以要跟表示人的名詞作賓語；cover 採訪的物件是“事”，所以要跟表示事物的名詞作賓語。

face to face

【點撥】面對面地 They stood face to face with each other。 他們面對面地站著。

face to face常與with 連用，表示 “與……面對面”， 在句中作狀語。

He came face to face with death。 他面臨死亡。

注意：face-to-face是合成形容詞，在句中作定語。
