英語閱讀技巧（2）Reading in Thought Groups

英語閱讀首先要有詞彙和語法的支援，這樣你就能讀懂意思，如果你還有與語言本身無關的其他領域的基礎知識那就更好了！

除此以外，有意識地提升閱讀速度也非常重要，其中按“意群（thought group）”閱讀就是提升速度和流暢度既容易又有效的方法。

下面看兩個例子：

1。The little boy，Johnnie，had been up with a packet of mints， and said he wouldn’t go out to play until the post had come。

可這樣按意群來快速閱讀：

The little boy Johnnie—-had been up—-with a packet of mints—-and said—-he wouldn’t go out to play——until the post had come

2。From the second floor flat she could see the postman when he came down the street，and the little boy from the ground floor brought up her letters on the rare occasions when anything came。

意群劃分如下：

From the second floor flat—-she could see the postman—-when he came down the street—-and the little boy from the ground floor—-brought up her letters—-on the rare occasions—-when anything came
