放鴿子除了短語動詞 stand sb up，還可以用另外一個短語動詞

放鴿子，漢語詞語，本義指放飛白鴿，象徵和平。後來網路出現了不遵守諾言的引申義。現多指定下約定而不赴約的不誠信一意。在英語中，常用短語動詞 stand sb up 來表示放鴿子。

Stand sb up，指沒有事先通知而故意失約使某人空等，尤指戀人，用於非正式場合；通常我們不用 stand up sb 來表示，而只用 stand sb up，例如：
