Ron： The grocery store is near the museum。 It’s across from the hospital。

它們分別為：

across from、next to、near、between、around、along、on the other side of

across from

意為“在對面”，與opposite同義。

For example：

Just across from our house there’s a school。 我們房子的對面有一所學校。

The post office is just across from the club。 郵局就在那俱樂部的對面。

這個詞和cross很像，那它們的用法也相似嗎？

方位介詞表示“穿過”含義的有三個，分別為across、cross和through。但它們的用法各不相同哦across、cross和through的用法辨析

首先，詞性不同：

across和through同屬介詞，不可直接作謂語使用；而cross為動詞，可直接用作謂語。

其次，詞義內涵不同：

across 意為“橫穿”，指在某一空間從一端到另一端或呈十字交叉穿過，側重動作在物體表面進行。

through意為“穿過、透過”，但強調從人群或物體中間穿過，側重動作在立體空間進行；

cross 意為“橫穿、穿過”。

For example：

Can you swim across the river？ 你能遊過這條河嗎？

The sun goes through the window。 陽光透過窗戶。

Be careful when you cross the road。 過馬路時要小心。

next to、near和around

next to 意為“緊靠……的旁邊”、“緊鄰”。near 表示“在……的附近”， 距離上比next to稍遠。around 意為“圍繞……”。

For example：

The new building next to the bookstore is a cinema。 書店旁邊的那幢新樓是一家影院。

Don’t play near the road。 不要在馬路附近玩耍。

All sat around the table。 所有人圍繞著桌子坐。

between

通常表示兩者之間的位置關係，意為“在……中間”，常與and連用。

For example：

The letter B is between A and C。 字母B在A和C之間。

The post office is between the art museum and police station。 郵局在藝術館和警察局之間。

along

“沿著”、“順著”

For example：

Walk along this street， then turn left， you can see the post office。

沿著這條街走，然後左拐，你就可以看到郵局了。

You’ll find his office just along the corridor。

on the other side of

意為“在另一邊”，其中the other 作形容詞使用，特指兩者中或兩部分的另一個或另一部分。

For example：

The bookstore is on the other side of the street。 書店在街道的另一邊。

They live on the other side of the street。 他們住在街道的另一邊。
