英語中的“吃藥”不是eat medicine，喝粥也不是drink porridge

生活中遇到奇葩，我們現在都流行說：兄弟，該吃藥了，藥不能停。

那麼，英語中的「吃藥」，該怎麼說呢？

是按照字面翻譯：eat medicine嗎？

錯！

正確的說法應該是：

take some medicine

have some medicine

take your pills

以上三種說法，都可以表達「吃藥」。

如果想表達具體一點，比如「吃幾片藥丸」，可以說

take 3 tablets twice a day

每次3片（藥丸），每天2次

take 1-2 tablets daily

每天1到2片（藥丸）

由於受到中文的影響，我們經常會用錯eat這個詞語。比如：中文中我們會說“喝湯”、“喝粥”，但是在英文中，這種情況都是用eat。

喝湯：

drink soup （ × ）

eat soup （ √ ）

喝粥：

drink porridge （ × ）

eat porridge （ √ ）

關於eat，還有一個非常有爭議的問題：

「吃早飯」應該說eat breakfast 還是have breakfast？

二娃問過很多老外，得到的答案都不相同。

不過，在大部分情況下，這兩者是可以通用的：

實際上我認為eat和have breakfast是可以完全互換的；我想不到有什麼情況下這兩者的含義有區別。

這兩個在我聽來都很自然，而且我也不會傾向於任意一個。
